Searching for traces in ancient Tibet

And so Punja and Tashi, along with Sonam, set off in the direction where the yak herd was grazing. The father waved to his sons. In silence, they continued along a narrow path that led past the beautifully situated lotus lake, where they had been yesterday. They continued eastward through the grassy steppe, as Sonam assured them.

So they came to a turn, onto a somewhat wider, well-trodden path. How many generations of people might have walked along this path?

"Surely our parents were also traveling here... and we with them?" Punja and Tashi thought. It was a strange feeling for the siblings as they looked at the stones and the grass. It was as if they were trying to find traces of their past in them.
